Gallipolis gets win over RH

GALLIPOLIS — The Gallipolis Blue Devils christened their new gym Saturday with a 50-34 win over the Rock Hill Redmen in the season opener for both teams.

The Blue Devils took advantage of Rock Hill’s cold shooting to build a 25-point lead after three quarters and coast to the win.

Gallipolis took an 18-10 first quarter lead, but the Redmen scored just 4 points in the second quarter and 6 in the third quarter as they fell behind 45-20.

Nick Mitchell scored 15 points to lead a balanced Gallipolis offense. Ethan Moore and John Troester added 9 points each.

Will McCollister and Devin Darby scored 9 points each to pace Rock Hill.
