SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. — LaVerne Bowman, 86, of Sevierville, formerly of Ironton, passed away Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at Ft. Sanders Sevier Medical Center. She moved to Tennessee after retiring from Jo-Lin Health Center in 1986. She was so loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by parents, Essie and Charles Lunsford Sr.; husband, Lawson Lawson F. (Bubby) Bowman; son, James (JimBo) Bowman; infant twin sister, Laurene Lunsford; and brothers, Charles Jr. and Ernest Lunsfod.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Georgene Bowman of Ashville, N.C.; daughters and sons-in-law, Judi and Edward McKee of Port Richey, Fla.; and Billy Layman of Dandridge, Tenn.; a daughter, Brenda Branam of Sevierville; one brother, Gene Lunsford; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Tracy Brammer Funeral Home with Chaplain Robert Barker officiating. Internment will follow in Community Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
