“We cleaned up the defensive boards pretty well. We talked about that being a key,” said Green coach Bobby Blanton.

Ratcliff scored 10 of his points in the first quarter as Green took an 18-13 lead. New Boston rallied to go up 29-27 at the half.

Trenton Otworth scored 8 points in the third quarter as the Bobcats tied the game at 38-38.

Stapleton and Ratcliff had 6 points each in the fourth quarter to key a comeback as Green fell behind 11 points with 2:48 to play.

Ratcliff rebounded a missed shot with eight seconds left and scored to put Green up 55-53.

New Boston turned the ball over with nine-tenths of a second left.

“It was a team effort,” said Blanton. “We went eight deep. That’s been our strength all season. Everyone who went into the game did something positive. We’re happy with that.”

Ratcliff had 21 points and Otworth 12 to lead Green, 2-2 overall but 2-0 in the SOC.

“We’re 2-0 in the league and we’re pretty excited about that,” said Blanton.
