Our Dear Mother, 71 passed away Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born Feb. 25, 1938, the daughter of the late Lonnie and Rebecca Large Anderson.
She attended Dawson Bryant schools was a homemaker and formerly attended New Valley Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Stapleton, one son Lonnie Stapleton, a grandson Timothy Stapleton Jr., a great-grandson Ronald Harmon Jr. and two brothers, Gene and Jim Anderson.
She is survived by, two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Brenda Stapleton of Ironton and Dwayne and Jackie Stapleton of Kitts Hill; a daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Joe Kenney of Georgetown, Ky.; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Luke and Verlene Anderson of Ironton and Roger Anderson of Kitts Hill; and two sisters, Sue Vallance of Franklin Furnace and Gail Clifton of Pedro. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Amanda Delawder, Adam Stapleton, Michael Gannon, Misty Gannon, Michelle Harmon and Andrew Stapleton; 10 great-grandchildren, Malea Delawder, Austin, Axel and Miley Stapleton, Loren, Michael and Mary Gannon, Jace and Niomi Coats and Dalton Harmon; special friend, Christine Ervin; and a special care giver, Sherry Mays. She was a Loving Mother and Friend who never met a stranger, and will be missed.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hayes-Phillips Funeral Home with Associate Pastor Frankie Fitch and Pastor Chuck Mericle officiating. Burial will follow in Mamre Cemetery.
