SOUTH POINT — Carlos Rae Brown, 53, of South Point, passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at her residence. The Ironton native was born Oct. 21, 1956, the daughter of the late Augustus Roy Wilcox and Edna Crabtree Hamm. She is survived by her husband, Paul Edward Brown, whom she married Sept. 19, 1983.
Mrs. Brown was a graduate of South Point High School, a Day Care Provider for Lawrence County Department of Jobs and Family Services and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Patty Brown.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Megan Brown and Chris and Jessica Brown, all of South Point; three stepchildren, Harold and his wife Michelle Brown of Decatur and Linda Brown and Paul Brown Jr., both of Ironton; six grandchildren, Anthony Brown, Brooke Brown, Brittany Brown, Caleb Brown, Brice Freels, and Kennedy Freels; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Lori Hamm of South Point; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Gloria and Orlyn Harper of Ironton, Cindy and Tim Wisenberger of Marion, Phyllis Baldwin of South Point and Robin Harper of South Point
Funeral services will be noon Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
