Charles “Charlie” Richard Brown, 74, of Ironton, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, Ky.
The Lawrence County native was born June 22, 1935 the son of the late Alfred and Gladys Violet Sanders Brown. He is survived by his wife Janice Marie Gore Brown whom he married March 9, 1957.
He was a 1955 graduate of Rock Hill High School and a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Brown was a retired supervisor for Osco Industries, Jackson Division and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a member at the Valley of Cincinnati and Local Lawrence Lodge 198 and he was a Kentucky Colonel.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Rhonda Brown of Pedro; two daughters and sons-in-law, Terri and Larry McKenzie of Flatwoods, Ky., and Debbie and Greg Keatley of Ironton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Hilda Brown of Newark and Gary and Joyce Brown of Coolville and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Vesuvius Cemetery in Pedro. Masonic services will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home.
