Shirley Lee Bowman West, 72, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at Hospice Care in Columbus.
She was born Feb. 18, 1937, in Lawrence County. Shirley was a homemaker and a private caregiver for more than 40 years. She will be deeply missed by friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Maude Stanley Bond; four brothers; two sisters and one grandson.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard (Peck) West Jr.; one sister, Barbara Shaw of Indiana; one brother, Billy Bond of Florida; four sons and four daughters, Maudie Sutton, Steve and Evelyna Perry of Columbus, Cindy and Greg Riffe, Jim and JoEllen Bowman of Ashland, Ky., Ron and Debbie Rister, Greg and Dawn Rister, Shirley Combs and Jammie Black all of Ironton; 20 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at O’Keefe Baker Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Robert McCormack. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
