Oak Hill tops cold shooting Redmen

OAK HILL — And you thought it was cold outside.

The Rock Hill Redmen shot a frigid 26.2 percent in a 51-31 loss Tuesday to the Oak Hill Oaks.

The Redmen were just 11 of 42 from the field and scored just 10 points in the first half.

“They were good shots. We just missed them,” said Redmen coach Bob Wilds.

Besides their trouble from the field, Rock Hill was only 5 of 7 from the foul line while the Oaks converted 14 of 21.

Shane Russell had 7 points and Trey Wilds hit a pair of 3-pointers for 6 points to pace the Redmen. Sam Cooke pulled down 11 rebounds and Jeremy Blagg had 3 steals.

Kyle Ondera scored 16 points and Jesse Slone 12 for the Oaks (5-1).

The Redmen trailed just 12-6 at the end of the first quarter but scored only 4 points in the second quarter and fell behind 29-10.

Rock Hill plays at St. Joseph next Tuesday and hosts Coal Grove Friday, Jan.8.
