KITTS HILL — Darlene R. Stewart, 83, of Kitts Hill died Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Kitts Hill native was born Jan. 26, 1926, the daughter of the late Floyd and Roberta Kingery Reed. She was the wife of the late Fred W. Stewart.
She attended Andis schools. She was a member of Bald Knob Church and spent most of her life in the Kitts Hill area.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister-in-law, Earl and Marie Reed, Charles Reed and Lawrence Reed; one sister and brother-in-law, Bill and Ruth Ferguson.
Survivors include three sons, Floyd Stewart of Kitts Hill, Terry and Carol Stewart of Kitts Hill, Joe and Debbie Stewart of Virginia; a special ex daughter-in-law, Ann Stewart of Michigan; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Paul Hardy of Kitts Hill, Florabell and Clarence Barker of Ravenswood and two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Claude and Gerry Reed of Columbus Lee and Elaine Reed of Kitts Hill and Viola Reed of Troy, Ohio.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Kerns officiating. Burial will follow in Bald Knob Cemetery. Friends may call after noon Monday at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
