Have you ever wanted to go somewhere exotic, but don’t want the hassle of getting a passport? Have you considered the U. S. Virgin Islands or Puerto Rico? Steve Call from Ohio University Southern will help you discover a tropical paradise at the dead of winter at two Briggs Lawrence County Public Library locations this week. Everyone’s invited to a free travel talk, “Traveling to the Caribbean without a Passport,” at the Chesapeake Branch Library at 6 p.m. Tuesday and the Main Library in Ironton at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Bring a snack and a friend for the “Classic Movie of the Month” at the Southern Branch Library, South Point, at 2 p.m. Tuesday. In “Road to Utopia,” Bob Hope and Bing Crosby are off to the Klondike country as two failed vaudevillians who steal the deed to a gold mine and end up on the run with an heiress-turned-saloon girl in tow.
