Rose Ann Thompson, 79, of Ironton, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at her residence.
The Lawrence County native was born Feb. 12, 1930, the daughter of the late James and Margaret Barrett Wilds.
She attended Pedro schools and was a 1948 graduate of St. Joseph High School. She was a former employee of the Lawrence County Hospital and Wilson’s Sporting Goods. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pine Grove and lived all her life in this area.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William (Tommy) Thompson; two brothers, James and Lawrence Wilds; a sister, Mary Otworth and a special nephew, James Nolin Wilds.
She is survived by her two children, John Ritter of Ironton and Deborah Scott of Ironton; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Clara Wilds of Ironton.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Father Tim Kozak officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
