PEDRO — Linda Besco Miller, 57, of Pedro, passed away Friday, Jan. 8, 2010.
Linda was born June 19, 1952, in Ironton, the daughter of Mary Frances Kerns Besco of Pedro and the late Dewey Hayward Besco. Her husband, John Roger Miller, passed away Friday Jan. 8, 2010.
Mrs. Miller was a 1970 graduate of Rock Hill High School. She was a graduate of Ohio University where she received her bachelor’s degree in education, her master’s degree in special education and was honored as a Martha Holden Jennings Scholar. She was a retired elementary school teacher for the Rock Hill School District where she taught for more than 36 years. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Johnda and Keith Simmons of Ironton and Jessica and Johnny Highfield of Flatwoods, Ky.; a brother and sister-in-law, Quincy C. and Linda Besco of Ironton; two sisters, Jennie R. Friend of LaRue and Janie L. Mason of Brookville and four beloved grandchildren along with many nephews and nieces.
Private graveside services were conducted in Woodland Cemetery with the Rev. Bryon Carmon officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the charity of your choice.
