Ironton citizens should be proud of their city

Hearing all of the positive comments from our community leaders at the Symposium on Wednesday evening and then reading Carol Allen’s extensive list of all of the positive endeavors that have and are taking place in our community makes me proud to be a citizen of Ironton.
Despite the negativity of a few “weeds” there are hundreds more “weed whackers” (as Carol calls them) and Carol Allen sets a wonderful example of someone who has a vision and does whatever it takes to see that vision come to fruition.
It’s people like Carol who make a community strong.
Having positive thinking leadership skills, like those of Rich Blankenship, Kevin Waldo, the LEDC, and the Ironton and Lawrence County Port Authorities, I have no doubts that Ironton, Ohio, can and will overcome any obstacles that we may face in the future.
We should all be proud of the dedication and commitment of these fine people and the thousands more just like them here in our county.
We are fortunate to live in an area that is rich in beauty, history, and the quality of people who reside here.
