Carol Marie (Aldridge) Markins, 75, of Medway, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, from Wright Patterson Air Force Base Medical Center in Dayton.
The Pedro native was born May 11, 1934, the daughter of the late Evelyn Aldridge Dean. She is survived by her loving husband, John David (Johnny) Markins, whom she married May 8, 1955.
She was a homemaker. Being the wife of a military man she had the opportunity to travel the world with her husband and children, living in places such as Germany, France and Okinawa. She loved the opportunity to meet new people and maintained lasting friendships. She was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by a son, Mark Douglas Markins of Springfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Ron Barnette of Columbus; a sister and brother-in-law, Shanna and Greg Collins of Ironton and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Hayes-Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Glen Carmon officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
