SP girls rally past Raiders

CHESHIRE — It was a tale of two halves.

After battling back to tie the game at halftime, the South Point Lady Pointers had a strong second half to beat the River Valley Lady Raiders 54-41 Thursday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

River Valley (5-6, 1-3) led 12-9 at the end of the first quarter before South Point tied the game 24-24 at the break.

The Lady Pointers (9-1, 4-0) then outscored the Raiders 18-13 in the third quarter to go up 42-37. South Point’s defense held River Valley to just 4 points in the fourth quarter to clinch the win.

Jalynn Bradburn had a game-high 28 points to lead South Point. Kayla Fletcher added 10.

Brooke Marcum scored 16 points and Alli Neville 9 to pace River Valley.
