KITTS HILL — Jackie L. Hall Sr., 66 of Kitts Hill, passed away Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Huntington, W.Va. native was born Feb. 10, 1943, the son of the late John Hall and Madeline Wiley Hall Gillispie. He is also preceded in death by his adoptive parents, David and Zeddie Hudson. Mr. Hall is survived by his wife Cheryle Thornton Hall whom he married June 8, 1962.
Jackie is a 1961 graduate of Windsor High School and was a retired Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputy. He was a member of the Ohio Buckeye Retired Sheriff Association, Ham Radio, and was a past Fire Chief of the Aid Fire Department. Mr. Hall was also a member of the Oakland Chapel United Brethern Church.
In addition to his parents and adoptive parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, William Joseph Hall.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Glea Cartmell of Kitts Hill and Diane Hutt of Wellston; son and daughter-in-law, Jackie Lee Jr. and Angel Hall of Ironton; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Marilyn Hall of Orlando, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Leslie Harris of Kitts Hill, David and Steph Malone of Ironton, Stephanie Cartmell of Kitts Hill, Dana Murnahan of Wellston, Nikki Hall of Wellston, and Chelsea, Trent, and Trevor Hall all of Ironton; four great grandchildren, Arynne Harris, Lakin Malone, Preston Malone, and Steven Murnahan; and multiple foster children.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Oakland Chapel United Brethern Church with Pastor Lenny Campbell and Rev. Danny Pancake officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Chapel Cemetery. Body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home.
