PEDRO — Carol Jean Pennington, 70, of Pedro, died Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Lawrence County native was born Aug.17, 1939, the daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy Dameron Mart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Pennington, who died Dec. 22, 2009.
She attended Pedro Schools and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Edward Mart.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Wendell Simpson of Ironton and Mary and Gary Wisenberger of Pedro; a son, Larry Pennington and Teresa Walburn of Columbus; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Graveside service will be noon Friday at Slabfork Cemetery with the Rev. Joey Vanmeter officiating. There will be no public visitation. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
