County engineer should do his job in timely manner

In the last of November 2009, while traveling on County Road 14, there was a farm tractor trying to level the road and fill some of the holes in the road.

I called the county garage to find out what they were paying the farmers to now try and fix the road. They said, “no, the road would be fixed before winter.”

Well, it is now January 2010 and no grader has been out there nor have any holes been filled, maybe we could pitch in and hire the farmers to grade the road, since the county engineer’s office doesn’t have time to fix these roads.

It seems that only the squeaky wheel gets the grease, as the road in Proctorville not only got chip and sealed, but new blacktop on top of it.

Our road was to be sealed for two years. However nothing has been done to it and complaint after complaint has to be registered before we can get so much as a load of gravel on it.

No one is asking for a four-lane road, just fix the holes in it so it is passable.
