WATERLOO — Gary Charles Adams, 25, of Waterloo, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010.
Gary Charles was born on Feb. 15, 1984, the youngest son of Faith Miller Adams of Waterloo and Darrell Adams of Ironton.
He attended Symmes Valley High School, where he was an active FFA member, 4-H member, member of the Junior Fair Board and member of the Viking football team.
After graduating high school in 2002, Gary continued to donate his time to the football team for seven years. Gary also was the videographer for both the football and basketball teams.
Gary attended Shawnee State University where he studied computer science and fine arts. Gary Charles was a proud employee of Marathon Petroleum Co., where he became a U.S. Coast Guard Certified Tankerman. He was a lifelong member of McDaniels Crossroads Church. Gary Charles had a special gift of making friends wherever he went, and he loved them all.
Gary Charles was preceded in death by his grandfather and namesake, Gary Elden Miller; grandmother, Bertha Adams; great grandparents, Jake Miller and Martha Meek; and great great grandparents, Mart and Belva Miller.
Gary Charles is survived by his mother, Faith Miller Adams; his father, Darrell Adams; his only sibling, Jonathan Adams, sister-in-law, Lora Adams; nephew, Caden Brammer, grandmother, Carol Miller; great grandmother, Edith Jarvis; grandfather and namesake, Charles Adams; aunts, Linda and John Carpenter of Waterloo, Lori and Rob Waugh of Jackson, Cheryl Miller of Hillsboro; uncles Brian and Joy Adams of Deering, Jeff and Mary Ellen Adams of Tennessee and Todd and Maria Adams of Raceland, Ky.; cousins, Jonda Carpenter, Derek and Amanda Carpenter all of Waterloo, , Brandon Coburn and Trent Coburn both of Crown City, , Tristin Coburn of Camp LeJune, NC., Kyle McClellan of Greenfield, Austin Bradley of Gallipolis, Travis and Housten Adams of Tennessee; Landon and Haley Adams of Raceland, Ky.; and a multitude of family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Patterson, J.D. Miller, Matt Owens, Nate Colegrove, Seth Colegrove, Drew Hunt, Nathen Pinkerman, and Seth Saunders. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at McDaniels Crossroads Church in Patriot by Pastor David Henson. Burial will follow in Flag Springs Cemetery, Patriot. Visitation will be 6 – 9 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home and 12 – 1 p.m. Saturday at McDaniels Crossroads Church, Patriot. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.
