BRANTLEY, Ala. — Gregory Allen Stevens, 50, of Brantley, formerly of Pedro, Ohio, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at Baptist South Hospital.
The Lawrence County, Ohio, native was born July 17, 1959, the son of the late Linzy and Mary Stevens. Greg attended Waterloo School and worked as a street and utilities supervisor for the city of Brantley. He attended Brunson Chapel and loved building race cars and racing them with his son.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Linzy Phillips Stevens Jr.
He is survived by one daughter, Tiffany Stevens, of Brantley; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Allen and Markita Stevens of Troy, Ala., and Butch Adams of Pedro; two grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Phyllis Stevens of Pedro; seven sisters, Vickie and Randy Deer of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Sheila and Tony Newman of Ironton, Ohio, Teresa and Danny Dillon of Willow Wood, Ohio, Sue and Bill Nance of Ironton, Helen and Gene Bush of Raceland, Ky., Patsy Rankin of LeHigh, Fla., and Virginia Rader of Pedro.
A memorial service was 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brunson Chapel in Brantley. Burial will follow in Brunson Chapel Cemetery. Turner Funeral Home in Luverne was in charge of cremation.
