COAL GROVE — Carl B. Hager, 76, of Coal Grove, passed away Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, at his residence.
The McDavid, Fla., native was born May 21, 1933, the son of the late Frank J. .and Iva M. Davis Hager.
Mr. Hager was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a former telephone technician for Teletron in Tallahassee, Fla., and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Hager was also a member of the Moose, Eagles, and VFW Post 8850.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Chester Hager, Frank Hager, Donald Hager, Phillip Hager, and Tommie Eddins and two sisters, Ruby Hager and Iva Estel Hager.
He is survived by two sisters, Louella Thompson of Pleasant Grove, Ala., and Iva Cantrell of Pensacola, Fla.; several nieces and nephews and a good friend, Connie Reed.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Woodland Cemetery with Brother Dave Schug officiating. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. There will be no visitation.
