CROWN CITY — There’s nothing that does more for a team than winning.

The win was the fourth straight for the Lady Dragons, now 7-12 on the season. Coach Jon Buchanan said the win streak has been a sign of the team’s improvement and maturity.

“We’re showing more growth as a team. We’re more comfortable in an end-of-the game situation,” Buchanan said.

“Early in the season we wouldn’t have won this game. Three of our last four games have been close games and we’ve been able to make the plays and win.”

Jaimie Phillips added 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 steals while Keri Napier grabbed 10 rebounds.

Hailee Swain scored 17 points to lead three Lady Rebels in double figures. Jasmine Waugh scored 13 and Chandra Canaday 12.

Fairland took a 14-10 lead at the end of the first quarter as Brooks hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 10 points.

Phillips scored 6 of Fairland’s 7 points in the second quarter and it was 21-17 at the half.
