Flyers fall after cold 4th quarter

CROWN CITY — In this case, three out of four wasn’t enough.

The St. Joseph Flyers put together three good quarters but couldn’t sustain their work in the fourth stanza and fell 56-49 Friday to the South Gallia Rebels.

The game was tied 6-6 at the end of the first quarter and 17-17 at the half.

St. Joseph (4-13) took a 38-33 lead after three quarter. But the Flyers’ offense struggle in the fourth quarter as the Rebels outscored St. Joseph 23-11.

The game was highlighted by 14 3-point goals. The Flyers hit eight shots from behind the arc to six for the Rebels.

Tanner Riley — who drained five trifectas — led the Flyers with a game-high 17 points.

Brandon Harris had 15 points, Dalton Matney 14 and Bryce Clary 12 for South Gallia (8-9).
