Myrtle L. Schwab, 65, of Galion, died Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
She was born Feb. 7, 1945, in Ashland, Ky., the daughter of the late Arlie J. and Estelene (Donaldson) Castle. She was preceded in death on June 21, 2007, by her husband, Raymond W. “Hookeye” Schwab whom she married on July 3, 1962.
Myrtle was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Apostolic Faith, was a homemaker, loved to go to yard sales and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked for 15 years at the former Cords and Cables in Iberia where she was an inspector.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and John Jackson and Judy and Allen Clark, all of Galion; five grandchildren, Melissa Schwab, Dustin and Juli Lowe and Joelina and Allen Clark; four great-grandchildren, Kiana Moulton, Taylor Lillo, Seth Clark and Madalynne Ihinger; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Alfred and Alveda “Sue” Castle of Galion,
Lester and Judy Castle of Galion, Chester and May Castle of Franklin Furnace and Arlie Joe and Kathleen Castle of Ironton; and one sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and John Schaffranek of Galion.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Raymond Schwab, Jr., two brothers, Ralph and Raymond Castle and one sister, Phyllis Williams.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home, Galion, with Pastor Ron Minturn and Elder Buddy Walters officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
