Dragons down River Valley

BIDWELL — A heartbreaking loss didn’t keep the Fairland Dragons down.
After losing 68-66 in double overtime on Friday, the Dragons rebounded well as they beat the River Valley Raiders 52-38 Tuesday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
Evan Salyers scored a game-high 20 points and Matt Bloomfield added 10 points to lead the Dragons (11-9, 5-5).
Cody Smith had 11 points for River Valley (5-17, 2-8).
Fairland jumped out to a 16-5 first quarter lead to take control of the game.
River Valley cut the deficit to 26-17 at the half, but the Dragons turned up the defense in the third quarter and outscored the Raiders 13-8 to build a 39-25 cushion.
