Ruth Riffe Stafford, 62, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
She was born March 13, 1927, in Lawrence County, the daughter of the late Wilbert and Julia Gustin Joseph. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Fourth and Pleasant streets in Ironton.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Herbert Riffe; second husband, Mack Stafford; a son, Douglas Allen Riffe; five brothers, Jim, Charles, John, Forrest, and Bernard Joseph; and a sister, Charlotte Joseph Heironolems.
She is survived by two sons, Jim (Glenna) Riffe of Ironton, and Mark Riffe of Texas; one daughter, Sharon (Gary) Scott of St. Louis, Mo. She also left behind a very special ex-daughter-in-law, Frances Sheridan Kimbler of Franklin Furnace; her grandchildren, Jim, Lisa, Julie, Karen, Mike, Ryan, Michelle, Jarrod, and Jessica; and many great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Tracy Brammer Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Long officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m. Friday.
