CHESAPEAKE — John T. Rickard, 80, of Chesapeake, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at his residence.
John was born May 28, 1929, in Mason County, W.Va., a son of the late Thomas C. and Dorothy Ruth Ross Rickard.
He was a retired accountant with ACF Industries, a U.S. Army veteran, and an avid supporter of Marshall University.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Robert Rickard; and one sister, Dorothy Inghram.
John is survived by one brother, James F. Rickard; one sister, Betty Rickard; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6 – 8 p.m. today at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Pallbearers will be Zane Rickard, Jay Rickard, Tex Rickard, Nate DeLong, Jimmy DeLong, and Josh Rickard.
