WILLOW WOOD — Asa Owen Harmon, Jr., 73, of Willow Wood, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010, at his residence.
The Ironton native was born Dec. 9, 1936, the son of the late Asa Owen Harmon, Sr. and Mildred Wiseman Harmon. He is survived by his companion, Beulah Shuff of Willow Wood.
Mr. Harmon was a graduate of Waterloo School and was an independent truck driver and a mechanic for Higgins Chevrolet. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to companion, he is survived by a daughter, Debra Harmon and Jason Morgan of Kitts Hill; a son, Chris and Leah Harmon of Coal Grove; two grandchildren, Dustin Harmon and Deanna Sherman both of Coal Grove; four sisters, Pat Arrington of Ironton, Norma Markwell of Las Vegas, Nev., Ellen Chapman of Barboursville, W.Va., and Lois Lawson of Des Moines, Iowa.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with Brother Charles Turley officiating. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
