COAL GROVE — Pauline Faye Thomas, 86, of Coal Grove, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010, at her residence.
The Lawrence County native was born April 5, 1923, the daughter of the late Stanley and Rose Hall Stewart. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Armand “Pete” Thomas.
Mrs. Thomas was a graduate of Pedro High School and was a former nurse for Lawrence County General Hospital in Ironton for 20 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Shari Scott; three sisters, Marie Webb, Mildred Davis, and Gladys Vaughn; two brothers, Walter Stewart and Charles Stewart.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Ralph Matney of Ironton; five grandchildren and their spouses, Robin and Rich Wilds and Sean and Denise Matney both of Coal Grove, Shane and Michelle Scott of Ironton, Senah Matney of Chesapeake, Seth and Nancy Matney of Ashland, Ky.; three great grandchildren, Codi Matney of Coal Grove, Adiley Matney of Grayson and Sethanie Pauline Faye Matney of Ashland; three sisters, Evelyn Bryant and Rosalee Fannin both of Ironton and Edith Coleman of Massilon.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Hysell officiating. Burial will follow in Community Cemetery. Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
