SOUTH POINT — Gerald Patrick, 70, of South Point, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 20, 2010, from Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
Gerald was born Sept. 8, 1939, in South Point, a son of the late Rev. Roy and Nola Patrick.
He was retired from Ironton Iron Inc. and was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. Gerald was a faithful and active member of First Church of the Nazarene of South Point where he sang in the choir, served as a Sunday School superintendant, served as a board member, and was a former Sunday School teacher for Junior Boys.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Patrick.
Gerald is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 50 years, Kay Moore Patrick; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Ruth Patrick, Paul and Joyce Patrick, Carl and Mary Patrick, Doug and Lib Patrick, the Rev. James and Sandy Patrick, and Bill and Yvonne Patrick; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Linda and Butch Shute, and Audrey Mays; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Church of the Nazarene of South Point with the Rev. Charles Lane officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Friends may call from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to First Church of the Nazarene of South Point Building Fund, 401 Solida Road, South Point, OH 45680.
