Donald Ray Stapleton, 54, of Ironton, died Monday, March 22, 2010, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 23, 1955, a son of the late Thomas Ray Stapleton and the late Ida Louise Gibbs. He was a carpenter by trade in the construction industry and was a member of Zoar Pentecostal Church with nine years of faithful service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Ray and Ruth Collins Stapleton and a sister, Sandra K. Stapleton.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Rhonda Kay Stapleton; a son, Donald Ray Stapleton Jr., and his wife, Nikki, of Ironton; a daughter, Tanya Bailey and her husband Mathew of Pedro; three brothers, Thomas Stapleton and his wife, Connie, of Ironton, Michael Stapleton of Pedro and Randall Stapleton and his wife, Violet of Lake Vesuvius; a sister, Deborah Kelly and her husband, Paul, of Ironton; and four grandchildren.
Funeral will be noon Saturday at Brown Funeral Chapel with Pastors Ronnie Aldridge, Gene Spillman and Kenny Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Furnace Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be 6 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral chapel.
