PROCTORVILLE — Mrs. Bernard (Virginia) Edwards, 83, of Proctorville, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010, in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va.
Jenny was born May 1, 1926, in Chesapeake, the daughter of the late Claude and Virgie Earles Koontz.
She was a homemaker and member of Rome Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard L. Edwards; and one infant daughter, Lisa Gay.
Jenny is survived by one daughter, Beverly Edwards of Proctorville; one grandson and his wife, Christopher and Dustee Porter of Canton; one great grandson, Tristan Porter of Canton; and special family friend, Victor Prino. The family extends a special thank you to Jenny’s caretaker, Linda Childers, who was a huge help to the family during her illness. The family would also like to say thank you to her special neighbors, Larry and Ruth Ferguson, Malvin and Patty Bailey, and the Fowler family.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Minister Brad Poe officiating. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville.
