SOUTH WEBSTER — Arnold Floyd “Papa Smurf” Watson went home to be with The Lord Saturday, March 20, 2010 from his home in South Webster.
Arnold was born in Buckhorn to the late Adam and Bessie Shepherd Watson. Arnold served in the Army; his tour of duty was in the Korean Conflict. He was a retired bricklayer.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters, David, Junior, Willie, Kearnie, Reed and Seth Watson, Connie McNeely, Orpha Webb, Rose Walters and Marie Harris.
He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Jean Watson; two brothers, Ken and Lloyd Watson; five sons, Timothy Arnold, Larry Allen, Brian Kearnie, Jeffrey Adam and Michael Ray Watson; three daughters, Crystal Jean Watson, Teresa Kay Kimble and Kimberly Sue Turuey. Arnold was also survived by countless grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Arnold will be sadly missed by his loving wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Arnold’s wishes were to be cremated and to have no funeral or memorial service. Arrangements are under the direction of F.C. Daehler Mortuary in Portsmouth.
