RUSSELL, Ky. — Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital (OLBH) will host a free informational meeting concerning the upcoming Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Avon Walk for a Cure Great Start Party will take place on the fifth floor of Bellefonte Centre (1000 Ashland Drive), Tuesday, April 6 at 5 p.m.

The free Great Start Party is being offered by Team Bellefonte and Walking Warriors, two teams of walkers that plan on attending the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in Charlotte that takes place Oct. 23 and 24.

Attendees to the party will learn how the Tri-State community has already raised more than $114,000 to support the walk, how to start or join a team, how to become a crew member for the walk and how to help raise awareness of the walk and of breast cancer.

OLBH has been a past recipient of Avon grant funding to further the hospital’s mammography program and OLBH’s Team Bellefonte has participated in previous Avon Walks.
