WARSAW, Ind. — Peggy Jo Evans, 72, of Warsaw, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Lutheran Hospital in
Fort Wayne. She was the wife of Rex L. Evans, whom she married Feb. 19, 1983 and who survives.
She was born March 11, 1938 in Ironton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Roy Allen Creger and Helen Wilson Creger Barber.
She was a cook at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw, from which she retired on Jan 1, 2000. She was a member of the Warsaw Eagles and the Warsaw American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five daughters, Sherry (Leonard) Blanton of Rochester, Ind., Elaine (Ron) Trumbull of Warsaw, Patty Jacobs of Warsaw, Paula Blankenship, also of Rochester, and Linda (Tom) Stapleton of Lake City, Fla.; a son, Robert (Mary Beth) Shelton of Warsaw; 19 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; four brothers, Roy (Elpha) Creger, of Jacksonville, Fla., Gary (Bonita) Creger of Ironton, Ohio, Richard Creger of New Gainey, Texas and Mike (Dena) Barber of Deering, Ohio and five sisters, Mary Ann Smith, of New Port, Mich., Debbie Gillispie, of Clean Creek, Ariz., Kay Scherer of Florence, Ariz., Brenda Rutledge, also of Florence and Louise Malburg, also of Clean Creek.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Titus Funeral Home in Warsaw with Pastor Roy Creger officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
