PEDRO — Audrey F. Patton Brinds, 91, of Pedro passed away Saturday, March 27, 2010, at her residence. She was born Sept. 1, 1918, the daughter of the late James and Cassie Miller Patton. She was the wife of the late James B. Brinds, who passed away Oct. 1, 2006.
She was a homemaker and spent most of her time doing missionary work, gardening, and sewing. She was a member of the Dryden Road Pentecostal Church in Dayton and attended Zoar Pentecostal Church here.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her stepfather; John Bryant; five sisters, Mildred Bradshaw, Rosie Miller, Roxie Malone, Miriam Montonero and Patrica (Maude) Croft; and three brothers, Erenst, Forrest and Paul Patton.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Purvis of Pedro; two grandsons, James (Lori) Purvis and Hank (Sherry) Purvis, both of Dayton;
five great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. Thanks to Hospice of Ashland for all of their care.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Aldridge and the Rev. Gene Spillman officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Furnace Cemetery. Friends may call noon until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Contributions if desired may be made to Hospice in memory of Audrey.
