CHESAPEAKE — It was a marquee match-up.

Chesapeake Lady Panthers Allison Chapman went head-to-head with Huntington (W.Va.) St. Joseph’s Sarah Sang Tuesday, and it was Chapman and the Lady Panthers who survived with a 1-0 win.

“Allison threw pretty good. She broke her leg last summer and she’s still not back to where she should be,” said Chesapeake coach Aaron Rice.

Chapman pitched a one-hitter, struck out 12, walked two and hit two to get the best of Sang who allowed three hits, struck out nine and walked two.

The game’s only run scored in the second inning when Courtney Heffner walked and Myky Harmon belted a triple.
