Dorris Meredith 92, of Ironton, died Good Friday, April 2, 2010, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland Ky.
She was born Jan. 25, 1918 in Clifton Forge, Va., the only child of James and Bertha Banks Sabattie.
Dorris was a 1937 Ironton High School graduate and worked at local restaurants. Later she owned and operated a downtown restaurant and catering service.
Dorris was married to the late Reid Meredith. She is survived by her stepson Reid (Sharleen) Meredith and her sister in law, Hazel Meredith-Cain. She was blessed with many devoted family members and many faithful friends.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Catholic Women’s Club the Women’s Choir, the Mixed Choir, and Church Women United.
Funeral Mass will be at 11a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Tim Kozak officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today with the Rosary at 8:30 p.m. at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
