Christopher William Rodgers, 43, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010, in Huntington, W. V.a.
The Huntington native was born July 23, 1966, the son of Phyllis Ann Weaver Rodgers of Havelock, North Carolina and the late William Edlow Rodgers. He is also survived by his wife, Penny Morgan Rodgers, whom he married March 21, 1989.
Christopher was a graduate of Dawson Bryant High School and Collins Career Center, where he received his training as a surgical technician. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was an employee at Teays Valley Hospital and formerly worked in carpentry work for Brian Davis and Rob Ferguson. He attended Central Christian Church in Ironton.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Danny Morgan.
In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by two children, Nicholas S. Rodgers and Jamie A. Rodgers both at home; two sisters, Helen Hyatt and her fiance’, Matthew J. Quick of Stafford, Va., and Lynn and Matthew Eaches of Havelock, N. C.; a brother and sister-in-law, Phillip David and Virginia Rodgers, also of Havelock; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kimberly and Larry Holtzapfel and Danette and Rex Robinson all of Ironton; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Cassandra Morgan of Ironton and a mother-in-law, Carol Morgan of Coal Grove.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with Minister Brent Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
