BALTIMORE, Ohio — Julia F. Ash, 89, of Baltimore, passed away April 10, 2010, at Heartland Fairfield Nursing Center. She was a co-owner of the Ash-Morrison Tomato Co. and she was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church in Proctorville.
She is survived by her daughter, Julia (Larry) Hoover of Millersport; grandchildren, Melissa Hoover of Pleasantville, Rebecca Hoover of Millersport, Michael (Liz) Hoover of Millersport, and Jennifer Morrison of Morgantown W.Va.; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herbert Orton Ash; daughter, Carolyn Ash Morrison; granddaughter, Julia Tatem; five brothers, Carl, Howard, Donald, Clyde and Robert McCormick; and parents Carl and Lena (Waddell) McCormick.
A Celebration of Life will take place at the New Hope United Methodist Church in Proctorville, on Thursdayat 1 p.m., officiated by Pastor Clarence Hensel. Burial will take place at Rome Cemetery following the celebration of life. Family and friends may gather at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME at 207 S. Main St. Baltimore, Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. and calling one hour prior at the church.
