SSU’s Clark Planetarium presents free laser shows

PORTSMOUTH —Shawnee State University’s Clark Planetarium is presenting a week of laser shows free and open to the public beginning on Monday, April 19 and ending in a Saturday marathon with 10 shows from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on April 24.

On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, five one-hour shows will be available from 1 to 5 p.m. On Tuesday and Thursday, one show is scheduled at 1 p.m. and three one-hour shows are scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m.

Both educational and general entertainment shows will be presented.

Soundtracks from Michael Jackson, Blue Oyster Cult, the Who, Metallica, Will Smith, Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper, Ricky Martin, The Beatles and U2 are only a few of the numerous hit artists that accompany the shows.

Seating is limited and walk-ins are welcome on a first-come first-served basis. Reservations are encouraged. Only 50 seats can be reserved for each show.

The shows are sponsored by Clark Planetarium and Student Activities and Housing.

The regular weekly shows at 7 p.m. Monday and Friday are also scheduled for the week. Three shows from 9:30 to 11:30 p.m. are scheduled on Friday night for students only.
