Timmy Kochendoerfer’s high school basketball career isn’t over yet. He’s got one more game to play.

The 6-foot-3 senior guard for the Ironton Fighting Tigers will play in the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association annual North/South All-Star Classic Sunday, April 18, at the Capital University Capital Center in Columbus.

“Timmy is very deserving of this honor,” said Ironton coach Mark LaFon.

Kochendoerfer blossomed his senior year as he averaged 20.5 points a game in leading the Fighting Tigers to their first SEOAL basketball championship since the 1979-80 season.

The Association Press Division III Player of the Year was a key reason Ironton advanced to the Division III regional championship game.

Also on the boys’ South roster in Div. III will be Kyle Ondera of Oak Hill.

The girls’ games will begin at noon for Divisions III and IV followed by the Div. I and II game at 1:30.

The boys’ Divisions III and IV game is at 3:30 p.m. The boys’ Div. I and II game is scheduled to tip-off a 5 p.m.

Tickets are $8 and will admit fans for all four games.
