HAMILTON TOWNSHIP — A Hamilton Township man was killed Saturday afternoon when the tractor he was operating toppled over.

Hamilton Township Fire Chief Mike Pearson said Donald Butler, 78, of County Road 23, was pronounced dead at the scene by Lawrence County Coroner’s Assistant Bill Nenni.

Pearson said Butler was operating his tractor on the bank of a drop off near his house when apparently the tractor slipped, pinning him between the house and the tractor.

“It looks like the grass was wet or something and it (the tractor) slipped,” Pearson said.
