SOUTH POINT — Carl Gibson, 92, of South Point, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, April 20 2010, from St. Mary’s Medical Center.
Carl was born March 12, 1918, in South Point, a son of the late Millard and Blanche Freeman Gibson.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, was a born again Christian and a member of Sunrise Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard, Frank and Harold Gibson.
Carl is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Jesse Gibson; one son, Carl Ray (Patricia) Gibson; two daughters, Cheryl (Kenneth) Klaiber and Kathy (Reuben) Lintzenich; four grandchildren, Gidget (Dennis) Cade, Daniel (Melanie) Gibson, Josh (Jenny) Gibson and Justin (Jill) Gibson; three great grandchildren, Aimee Gibson, Ethan and Savannah Cade; one brother, Bill Gibson; three sisters, Olive Brammer, Gladys Keeny and Betty Knipp; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be noon Friday at Sunrise Church of the Nazarene, with his son-in-law, Kenneth Klaiber and Pastor Brian Mallot officiating. Burial will follow in Ice Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Deering with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 6878 of Proctorville.
