Dianna G. Shears of Ironton, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, April 26, 2010, from Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky.
Dianna was born Dec. 13, 1943 in Ironton, a daughter of the late Fred and Irene Stamper Jr.
She was a 1961 graduate of Rock Hill School and served as majorette in the band. Dianna was also retired from the Ironton City Police Dept. where she served 26 1/2 years as police dispatcher. She was also a born again Christian and a member of Christ Temple Baptist Church in Huntington, W.Va.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alphi and Manila Bay Sharp and Fred and Bertha Stamper Sr.
Dianna is survived by four sons, Robert Raymond Shears Jr. of Ironton, John Fredrick Shears of Royse City, Texas, Stephen Ray Shears who lived at home and Jamie L. and Amy Shears of Wheelersburg; one sister, Carolyn Conley of Ashland, Ky.; one brother Roger Stamper of Ironton; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be noon Friday at Woodland Cemetery with Pastor Keith Watter officiating. Visitation will be 9:30- 11:30 a.m. Friday at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home.
