PEDRO — Carla Jean Shuff, 55 of Pedro, passed away Friday, April 30, 2010, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Lawrence County native was born July 2, 1954, the daughter of the late Walter “Doc” and Mary Pippin McKnight. She is survived by her husband, Alton Ernest Shuff, whom she married Aug. 29, 1980.
Mrs. Shuff attended Ironton and Coal Grove schools and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ironton. Mrs. Shuff also loved spending time with her loving husband, daughters and granddaughters.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Jack McKnight and Jerry McKnight.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Leslie E. McKnight-Turvey-Frasure and her husband Robby of Conway, S.C. and Minti E. Settle and her husband Jesse of Pedro; a brother, Tracy McKnight of Ironton; five sisters, Patricia Cordle of Springfield, Joyce “Sue” Moore of Ironton, Freda Delawder of Ironton, Angie Martin of Ironton, and Jennifer Vickers of South Point; and two granddaughters, Katie Turvey and Kristen Turvey, both of Conway, S.C.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Phillips Funeral Home with Dr. Wayne Young officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
