Mary Holcomb Slagel, of Ironton, went to be with Our Lord Wednesday, May 5, 2010, after a year- long battle with lung cancer.
She was born on July 16, 1914, and has been a resident of Ironton for 68 years. She was choir directress for Christ Episcopal Church for 50 years and was active in many community events.
She is survived by her brother Robert A. Holcomb, her sister Ann Holcomb Bushnell, her daughter Martha Slagel Elterich, and her son Michael W. Slagel along with six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
