CHESAPEAKE — Doris Stumbo, 70, of Chesapeake, died Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Edgewood Manor in Lucasville. The Logan, W.Va. native was born July 27, 1939, the daughter of the late Ellis and Ona Holland McComas. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Roy Levon Stumbo, whom she married March 11, 2000.
Mrs. Stumbo attended Boyd County High School. She was a former custodian for Symmes Valley High School, retiring in 2000, and was a member of the Palestine United Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Leslie McGuire Sr. six sisters, Mable Ferguson, Bobbie McComas, Margie Edwards, Gloria Frasher, Sue Ferguson and Bonnie McComas; two brothers, Junior McComas and Jack McComas; and a grandson, Tylor Jenkins.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert McComas of Catlettsburg, Ky. and Leslie and Andrea McGuire of Virgina Beach, Va.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Bert Aldridge of Pedro, Christina and Haskel Orsbon of Willow Wood, and Susan and Charlie Martin of Hitchins; three stepchildren and their spouses, Debra and Alvin Carpenter of Pedro, Tamara and Robert Tredway of Willow Wood and Roger and Michelle Stumbo of Scottown; 20 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Macil Harvey and Collie Gambill of Lorado, W.Va., Mary and James Mullins of Rush, Ky., Debbie and Larry Sturgill of Summerville, S.C. and Ernie and Ronald Cutshall of Grayson, Ky.; and a brother and sister-in-law, John and Ramona McComas of Worthington, Ky.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, with Pastor Charles Turley officiating. Burial will follow in Wilgus Fairview Cemetery.
