Alice Juanita Fletcher, 93, of Ironton, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 25, 1916, in Ironton, the daughter of the late John and Jessie Short Vaughn.
She was a 1935 graduate of Ironton High School, a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a member of the Ironton Garden Club. She also retired from Allyn’s Jewelry where she worked as a clerk. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph S. Fletcher, Sr.; two brothers, Charles Vaughn and A.J. Vaughn; three sisters, Mary Gallagher, Ruth Dillon, Elsie Chapman and Katherine McMahon and one great-grandson, Seth Cogan.
Alice is survived by one son, Joseph S. Fletcher, Jr. of Ironton; one daughter, Janice Cogan of Ironton; one grandson, Kenneth Joseph Cogan of South Point; one great -grandson, Kenneth Albert Cogan; and one sister, Eileen Lambert of Carrolton, Ga.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church, Fifth and Railroad streets, with the Rev. Jan Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Tracy Brammer Funeral Home.
