Paul L. Imes, Sr., 62, of Ironton, died Thursday, May 27, 2010, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. The Lawrence County native was born July 3, 1947, the son of the late Ivan L. and Clara Walke Imes. He is survived by his wife, Loretta Patsy “Pat” Summers Imes, whom he married Aug. 9, 1976.
Mr. Imes attended Ironton City Schools. He was a mechanic for Jack Wolfe Chevrolet and of the Methodist faith
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Bill Imes, Stanley Imes, Raymond Imes and Fred Imes; and a sister, Edna Henry Imes.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons and three daughters-in-law, Paul L. Imes, Jr, Paul Michael and Leah Imes, James and Susie Sharpe and Dwayne and Kim Summers, all of Ironton, and Stanley Sharpe of Scioto County; a stepdaughter, Wiona Martin of Huntington, W.Va.; two grandchildren whom are being reared in the home, Jamie Sharpe and Kelsey Sharpe; 15 grandchildren; three brothers, Robert and Janet Imes of Tennessee, Ralph Imes of Ironton and LeRoy and Brenda Imes of Panama City, Fla.; and three sisters, Dorothy Smith of Springfield, Mildred Fritzwater of Indianapolis, Ind. and Helen Imes of Ironton; and three sisters-in-law, Connie Imes and Betty Imes both of Ironton, and Judy Imes of Franklin Furnace.
Funeral services will be noon Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
